The Graduate Certificate in STEAM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) realises the connection between technology, science and the arts, and how to understand and interpret these disciplines in the curriculum and the classroom. The Federal Governments Department of Education and Training (DET), as well as the Chief Scientist, have identified the importance of strengthening teaching and learning in these areas, factoring in advances in computing power and increased access to specialised equipment and technology (such as 3D printers).As the teaching of science and technical disciplines becomes increasingly important, this program offers the ideal opportunity for teachers to refresh and broaden their knowledge in these areas, or for graduates in related disciplines to up-skill through a personalised professional learning program.It is expected that students who have completed the accelerated 3.5 year Bachelor of Education at Griffith will be able to access and complete this program ahead of their counterparts from competitor institutions, who will have undertaken education degrees over a 4-year period.
